Over-the-Air (OTA) Update Method

Authorized Samtec Active Devices support over-the-air updates when granted Internet access. The following steps can be used to perform an update using Samtec Device Connect App:

1. Expand the Device’s Summary View from within the device list window.

2. Click on the Check for Update button.

3. A prompt will appear if Internet access has not yet been granted.

4. In the prompt, provide credentials of a Wi-Fi network with Internet access.

5. Next, click the Check button.

6. The device will perform the following steps:

   • 6.1. Temporarily bring down AP and attempt to connect to Wi-Fi.
   • 6.2. If able to connect to network and has Internet access, check if remote update is available.
   • 6.3. If update is available, download new version.
   • 6.4. Restart AP once download is complete.

7. If an update is available and downloaded, a ‘Perform Update’ will appear.

8. Click ‘Install update’ to restart device with new app version.
